KULTURDATA is a tech-for-good consultancy community committed to professionalizing organizations and leaders in the cultural sector. KULTURDATA was founded by IT industry veteran Frederik Fabricius, who has extensive experience in establishing professional communities and headed IBM Europe's Data Solutions and partner network.
As a result of an extensive digital pilot in Region Skåne, KULTURDATA initiated and is a founding member of the European Audience Data Alliance, where organizations and cultural agencies from over 12 countries, dedicated to cultural engagement come together to share and find inspiration.

The Audience Challenge
Who are our audiences? Where do they come from? What do we know about their cultural preferences? How can we engage them in a meaningful, long-term relationship?
These were some of the questions we sought to answer during a pilot conducted in Region Skåne from 2022 to 2023, in collaboration with leading cultural organizations. Our objective was to explore the potential for sharing audience insights and devising new strategies for engaging with various cultural entities, including museums, theaters, opera, dance, and orchestras.
One significant outcome of this pilot was the realization that, in order to connect with today's audiences, cultural organizations need to have access to and an understanding of digital tools.

Cultural Democracy: Reconnecting with Audiences
Traditionally, cultural organizations were regarded as the custodians of artifacts, stories, and experiences that define the social fabric of our societies. However, in this digital age of big data, large corporations are eroding the foundation of our cultural democracy. Reestablishing meaningful relationships with our existing audiences and connecting with new citizen groups in the digital age is pivotal to the long-term success of any cultural organization.
Thanks to recent technological advancements, digital tools that were once the domain of large corporations are now accessible to all cultural organizations, both individually and collectively.
